Glee!

This week's episode of Glee was definitely not my favorite. I especially wasn't sure how it fit in with last week's episode of some serious Madonna-ness. The flow of it definitely didn't click with me as well as I had hoped but there were a few messages within this episode that I thought definitely made it worth the watch. This episode covered topics like eating disorders of the cheerleaders - especially how Mercedes was handling being on the Cheerios squad. At one point she even fainted from lack of nourishment. Thankfully, Quinn was there to help her see that she is beautiful no matter what and that Sue is wrong to make the Cheerios starve themselves to make themselves look good. This episode also dealt with some family affairs that I'm sure will flow into next week's episode as well!

Movies in 3D

So, I know I'm not the only one who has noticed the increasing amount of movies coming out in 3D. Normally I am excited about new things coming out but the 3D part seems a bit excessive - not to mention that it can do more damage to your health than entertain you. Most people, experience headaches after viewing a movie in 3D. This is mostly caused by confusion in the brain about the motions you are experiencing. Your body tells you that you are sitting in a theater or in the comfort of your own home, but your eyes tell you that you are about to fall off a cliff and your body gets confused and isn't quite sure how to respond which can cause stress to your body. It seems to me that we should keep movies in 2D. And it's not that I don't think that the 3D effect makes the video more realistic, I think that for the betterment of our health, this form of entertainment should be kept in 2D.

Viva Madonna!

Well there's clearly no question as to the influence that Madonna has had on our culture. This week's episode of Glee was all about Madonna! First, it started out with the innovative ideas of Sue Sylvester for the Cheerios. After seeing their practice, Mr. Shoe decided to implement the Madonna ideals into the Glee club. Of course, then the whole school decided to dress as versions of Madonna. And FINALLY, Mr. Shoe owns Sue in some serious comebacks to her constant comments about his hair. Mercedes and Kurt decide to take advantage of the situation seeing that Sue was devastated, and them also dealing with the hurt at Mr. Shoe's lack of confidence in their singing abilities they decide to give Sue Sylvester a new look - in honor of Madonna. Their efforts can be seen in Sue's cover of "Vogue" which can be seen at - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHo344OJR6c

At any rate, this episode pulls out some very good topics that involve the empowerment of women which make it an episode worth seeing!
Plus they are making a continuation of the Madonna theme for next week so...LOOK OUT!

GLEE!

I, along with thousands of others have fallen in love with the new series on Fox. Glee is a show about a misfit group of high school kids who are in the Glee club. If you aren't sure as to what a Glee Club is, it's basically a show choir group. This particular Glee Club is very diverse. It has recruited kids from the football team, the cheerleaders, the divas, and the kids who join every club in school. The main reason why I think that I have fallen in love with the show is because I love music. Not only that, but I do secretly apply various moments of my life to particular songs. My only wish is that I could actually sing like these people do. Seriously, they are incredible. The cast of Glee was also recently on Oprah due to the return of the show this week.
After watching the newest episode this week, I have to say I was expecting a little more. Since there was so much anticipation, I think that the episode should have been a two hour premiere. They seemed to rush through a lot of information that could have spanned out for a longer period of time. Even as an avid viewer it was difficult for me to keep up with the storyline. So hopefully, next week will be much better!
